Ellen lives in Issaquah and draws the figure with like-minded artists. Her interest in figure began in high school when she took community classes at Dartmouth from Edwin Owre, whose approach to drawing elicited something fundamental in her. She later studied with Ed at the University of Vermont and remains influenced by his teaching. Having expanded her influences over the years, she endeavors to extend the line in her own work and teaching.
